The feasibility study, which Parkhead Housing Association recently appointed FBN to undertake, is nearing completion. The out come, is a striking urban design proposal, which would provide a mix of 50 to 60 family houses and flats. The key however, is that the floor layouts cut down wasted circulation space which yet provide flexible space. The shell construction will reduce both heat loss, improve air tightness, and reduce CO2 emissions, which, together with a renewable energy provision, should be sufficient to meet the very low to zero carbon emission target of 2013 – 2016.
FBN are working closely with suppliers and contractors to procure practical and affordable sustainable housing.
