Richard has worked as an Associate in FBN since 2005.  John and Les are delighted to welcome him now as a fellow Partner, for the extra strength this gives to the direction of the practice.

Richard graduated at Oxford Brookes University.  Until 1995 he worked as the main conceptual designer for a London practice, producing sketch schemes and feasibility studies for a wide range of building types: his work attracted seven national design awards. He studied part-time at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales, the UK’s leading centre for sustainable design.  Next, he set up his own practice, carrying out many commissions - residential, commercial, healthcare, and social/amenity - for private and public clients.  Since joining FBN, he has piloted our largest project, at Cornton & Cultenhove (see Projects), and runs a number of others.  He heads the practice’s initiative to widen its design base into new fields, drawing on his experience of commercial architecture.  Richard is the practice’s Design Manager, and he also manages Computing and IT.
