Partner John Newman BArch (Hons) RIAS worked in private practice and local government after graduating from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. In 1982 he joined Scottish Special Housing Association to work (with Les) on the GEAR project and on special needs housing. In 1989 SSHA merged with the Housing Corporation in Scotland to form Scottish Homes, and John was selected as Architectural Manager for the Glasgow & West District. In 1990 he joined Fraser Brown Partnership as a partner, and he has since headed very many projects across Scotland. His particular skills and interests include masterplanning, housing-led regeneration, special needs projects and working with community groups. Within the practice, he manages production and Health & Safety.
