This scheme was an important project in the development of housing provision for the young and homeless. The Brief was developed closely with Centrepoint to house 27 young persons, down to the smallest detail and it was the first hostel to treat the homeless as ordinary young people. In the early 90’s the building became regarded a prototype for the 'Foyer' schemes to follow. The scheme won the 1991 RIBA/Times Community Award. We also undertook a refurbishment of the project in 1998.
