Fairfield Housing Co-operative asked the practice to design their offices in 1994, within the shells of a couple of ground floor flats. The conversion worked well until they needed more space. The co-operative justifiably prides itself on its green credentials, so re-using the existing building was the favoured approach, together with a sympathetic (though contemporary) extension which now provides the level-entry entrance, reception area, wheelchair WC and open-plan main office. The contractor was Hatrick-Bruce.
