Sanctuary Scotland Housing Association assembled land for a major housing regeneration project, through the clearance of unpopular three-storey inter-war tenements. We have piloted the first phase (140 houses) of this 400-house enterprise, and are currently preparing for the follow-on. Homezones, generous public open space, and a planning requirement for special corner blocks with no blank gables are features of the Masterplan that we prepared, on the basis of extensive public consultation. Polluted ground delayed the site start and required cost-savings, but by working closely with the partnered builder, CCG (Scotland) Ltd., we managed to prevent any loss of the scheme\'s essential amenities.
